Artist Jessica Stockholder has been selected to create the Art Loop 2012 public project, titled "Color Jam" and scheduled to open in June. "My idea is to fill an intersection with color," said Stockholder, who became chair of the University of Chicago's Department of Visual Arts last summer. "That will include the road and the sidewalk and up the building, so there's a cubic volume of color in the intersection wedged between four corners and four buildings."
She said the specific intersection and color combination have yet to be determined. "I'm thinking about a hot red, green and blue, but it might be something different in the end,” she said.
